　　上個星期四英語課上，余老師告訴我們這個星期要舉行全年級段的英語單詞競賽，希望我們每個同學認真準備，考出好成績。

　　聽到這個消息，我高興得一蹦三尺高，因為作為英語課代表的我自信有能力考好的。后來那幾天，我都沒有認真復習，還悠哉樂哉。一晃一個星期就過去了，終于迎來我期盼已久的“英語單詞”競賽了，看著試題覺得很簡單，我快速地寫著，自我感覺非常好，滿以為會是一百分的'。可等試卷發下來時，我驚呆了——只有94分，而班里一百分的竟然有15個同學。看著自己的分數，我傻眼了，怎么不是一百分呢？我真想哭。試卷上的幾個“×”也好像在笑我：“平時不努力，現在還想一百分，美著呢，你！”看著，想著，淚水不知不覺地流了下來……

　　我擦干眼淚，在心里下定決心：下次英語競賽一定要考個滿分，讓“×”號永遠離開我的試卷。這次的失敗，讓我懂得了：不付出努力，是不能取得好成績的！
