　　Far and away the most important holiday in China is Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year. To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas to people in the West. The dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar rather than the GREgorian calendar.

　　so the timing of the holiday varies from late January to early February. To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year's Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. But the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the Lantern Festival, means the official end of the Spring Festival in many parts of the country.

　　Spring Festival is the most importantand popular festival in China.Before Spring Festival ,the people usually clean and decorate their houses.And they go to the Flower Fairs to buy some flowers.During Spring Festival ,the adults usually give lucky money to children.People often get together and have a big meal.Some people eat dumpling for dinner.

　　春節(jié)在中國是最重要最流行的節(jié)日。很久以前，過春節(jié)時，人們常常需要整理打掃房間。并且去花市買些鮮花。春節(jié)期間，成年人常常要給小子壓歲錢。人們常要在一起聚餐，有些人午夜還會吃餃子。

　　Time flies away, and it's Spring Festival again. This is the traditional festival of our country. It is said to be one of the most prosperous times of the year. The first day of the first lunar month is the Spring Festival. Every family will set off firecrackers and paste Spring Festival couplets to welcome the New Year.

　　Our children are very happy, can wear new clothes, wearing new hats, to buy a new stationery, but my father taught me the most happy or today fireworks, I was timid, dare not to play, dad taught me some first "flying saucer", hurriedly ran to the point after ten meters away, watch it fly xuan to heaven, I have learned. Then my father taught me to put the "electric light stick", and after burning the back of the hand to quickly take back, it blossomed a brilliant spark, I learned again. Put "tank" and then my dad taught me this kind of fireworks, ordered after five metres away, to look at its gun barrel jet fireworks, I learnt, dad said I was smart, satisfiedly smile in my heart, now dad taught me, I later can boldly play fireworks.
