　　My hometown is in the southeast of Shandong， a seaside village.

　　It is a small village. There are about 600 people. Most of them are peasants. They mainly plant wheat， corn and cotton. Some of them often go fishing in the sea.

　　Great changes have taken place in the past ten years. Now the peasants here use tractors in their work. A lot of new buildings have appeared. Many families own fridges and some even have air-conditioners. In the evening they watch TV as the people in cities do.

　　There is a primary school in the village. Most of the peasants’ children are studying in college now.

　　I love my home town. I believe she will become more and more beautiful in the future.

　　My hometown is on the Fenhe River. This is the place where my grandparents and parents have lived. When I was a boy, I often played near the bank of Fenhe River.

　　There are about one thousand people in our village. Most of them are living a hapy life. They have built their new houses. All of their children can go to school. Last year ten students from our village went to college.

　　There is a reading room and a library here. Every evening many villagers go to the evening school to learn science and read newspapers.

　　This is my hometown. I hope you will visit here one day.

　　In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

　　I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

　　My hometown is beautiful place It stands near a wide river at the foot of low green hills. It has many tall buildings and wide streets. There are trees and flowers everywhere.

　　But it has not always been like that. In the old days, it was a sad dirty little town. Landlords and merchants lived in the few good houses. For the working people there were only dark, unhealthy rooms in old buildings and huts in narrow muddy streets. Nearly everyone was poor and many had no work.

　　Everything has changed since liberation. The people, led by the Party, have got rid of the mud and dirt. They have put up schools, theaters, shops and flats. They have an assembly hall and a hospital. Along the river they have built offices, hotels and parks. A lot of factories have sprung up. On the river, streamers and boats come and go busily, day and night. They carry the products of our industries to all parts of the country.

　　I love my hometown, and I love its people. They also have changed. Healthy and happy, they are going all out to build socialism.

　　我的家鄉(xiāng)是個美麗的地方，它座落在一條寬闊的河流在綠色小山腳下。它有很多高層建筑和寬闊的街道。那里到處都是樹和花。

　　Welcome to Suzhou. Today I’m your tour guide. Suzhou is a beautiful place in Southeast China. It was built over 2500 years ago. So Suzhou is an old city with a long history. It’s famous for its gardens and Hanshan Temple. We are all proud of them. Many foreign tourists come to see them. In Suzhou, There are lots of old constructions like Tiger Hill, Beisi Pagoda and so on. After visiting them, you’ll be tired. But don’t be worried. There are also lots of snack shops in Suzhou. They are different from those in Western countries. They are much more delicious than some Western food. Suzhou is a modern city as well as an old city. There are lots of tall buildings and many other modern constructions in Suzhou, too. You can find hundreds of people in smart clothes in the street. What a beautiful city it is!
